Inside the Conservancies
Sweetwaters Serena Camp (Ol Pejeta)

The flagship lodge inside Ol Pejeta, operated by Serena Hotels. The 39 tented suites are in permanent canvas structures with wooden floors, en-suite bathrooms, and verandas overlooking a waterhole. The full-board rate includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two guided game drives daily. The waterhole beside the main tent attracts elephants, rhinos, and warthogs throughout the day - meaningful wildlife time happens even without leaving the lodge. Ol Pejeta Bush Camp

A good choice for visitors who want the conservancy experience without the larger resort scale.
Nanyuki Town
Sportsman’s Arms Hotel

The 120 rooms and cottages face the mountain or the gardens. Facilities include an equator-straddling croquet lawn, indoor heated pool, spa, and animal orphanage. What to Pack for Nanyuki Stays
Nanyuki sits at 1,950m altitude - evenings and early mornings are significantly cooler than the coast or Nairobi’s lower suburbs. Pack a fleece or light jacket for game drives: open vehicles at dawn inside Ol Pejeta or Lewa can feel cold at 6am even in August. Most conservancy lodges provide blankets and hot-water bottles, but having your own warm layer is worth it.
Altitude note: Visitors arriving directly from sea level (Mombasa or the coast) may notice slightly reduced stamina for the first 24 hours at Nanyuki’s elevation. This is mild at 1,950m but relevant if you’re planning strenuous activity immediately on arrival.
